Cordoba 25T-CE

Hand-made instrument of exotic acacia wood. Tenor size, with two-band EQ and active Pickup built-in. The acacia wood is beautiful, sound quality excellent. The wooden, rope-style binding and rosette are beautiful accents.

.

It has a solid acacia top, with figured acacia sides and back. The cutaway design makes for a beautiful touch, in addition to giving easier access to the high strata of the neck.

.

Cordoba is a guitar company, and yes, I believe you can get great ukes from guitar makers. This is an excellent example. This is one of three Cordoba ukes in my play room, I’ve enjoyed the heck out of each of them.

.

One of the things that surprised me when first unpacking this, is the fact that the EQ / Pickup array is branded “Cordoba” … was expecting a Fishman Kula, which you see on just about every other (stock) uke by every other company.

.

The active, two-band EQ and pickup make for fast plug-and-play when you hit the Open Mics, the sound is bright and beautiful.

.

This was one of my first ukes, I bought it after having seen a demo (and resounding approval) by Katie Denure of One Music School … fired up my browser, put in the order right then and there. In my view, she was correct, spot on. As a bonus, she talks and sounds like my Aunt Kiyo.

Here’s the review that prompted my purchase:

My advice? Get one, it’s a great uke for Open Mics and it happens to be beautiful as well.
